My PLN

I attended the Resume Writing Workshop on October 27th, 2014. This workshop was specifically helpful to teachers in creating their resumes and understanding what experiences are important to include and how to highlight these experiences to increase your employ-ability. This included using appropriate and professional vocabulary, as well as highlighting the benefits of each experience and how it positively effected those involved. I would not use this information for instructional purposes necessarily, but rather use these skills to create an established resume that allows for more employment and instructional opportunities. I plan to adapt the strategies discussed in this workshop, such as adding further explanation to certain experiences to highlight the purpose and benefit they may have had to those involved. This type of workshop is definitely helpful for teacher candidates, as it grants the opportunity to understand and increase awareness of what principals and school boards are looking for when hiring and appropriate strategies to implement in attempt to optimize resumes.
